Google Chrome ANGLE Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability Allowing Heap Corruption

Vulnerability

A vulnerability allowing an out-of-bounds write in the ANGLE component of Google Chrome has been identified. This issue is present in versions of Google Chrome prior to 148.0.7778.216. The vulnerability could potentially be exploited by a remote attacker to cause heap corruption, through the use of a crafted HTML page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to heap corruption, a common precursor to memory corruption vulnerabilities that can be exploited to execute arbitrary code.

Remediation

Users can update to Google Chrome version 148.0.7778.216 or later to address this vulnerability.
