Code-Projects Employee Management System Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Employee Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the 'applyleave.php' file, where the 'id' parameter is not properly sanitized before being inserted into multiple 'href' attributes. This flaw allows remote attackers to inject malicious scripts that could be executed in the context of the user's browser.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the victim's browser. This could lead to session hijacking, account takeover, or phishing attacks by manipulating the user interface.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a GET request to 'applyleave.php' with a crafted 'id' parameter that includes a script payload, such as a JavaScript alert. The injected script will be executed when the response is viewed in a web browser.
