hk_shortcode
- <= 1.0
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the hk_shortcode plugin for WordPress, affecting versions through 1.0. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied shortcode attributes in the 'title-plane' shortcode. Specifically, the 'title' attribute is directly concatenated into the HTML output without proper escaping. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the compromised page.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
