Google Chrome Passwords Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Passwords component of Google Chrome on Windows, in versions prior to 148.0.7778.168, allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to escalate privileges through a crafted HTML page. This issue arose from insufficient policy enforcement.

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized privilege escalation within the affected browser.

Remediation

Users can update to Google Chrome version 148.0.7778.168 or later to address this vulnerability.
