A command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Totolink A8000RU router, specifically in the version 7.1cu.643_b20200521. The issue resides within the CGI handler, in the file '/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi', particularly in the 'setWiFiWpsStart' function. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands by manipulating the 'wscDisabled' parameter in the HTTP request. This exploitation occurs without any authentication, potentially leading to a full compromise of the router and the connected network.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for arbitrary OS command execution with root privileges on the affected device, compromising the router's security and potentially the security of the connected network.
To reproduce this vulnerability, send a POST request to '/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi' with the 'wscDisabled' parameter set to a crafted command, such as '`ls>./setWiFiWpsStart.txt`'. The router will execute the command and create a text file with the command's output, demonstrating successful exploitation.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
