- <= 3.1.0
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Jeg Kit for Elementor WordPress plugin, affecting all versions through 3.1.0. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when users access the compromised pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts via the 'sg_content_number_prefix' parameter. This can be done by editing a page or post and adding a script into the designated shortcode attribute. Once the page is saved and viewed, the injected script will execute.
Users are advised to update the Jeg Kit for Elementor plugin to version 3.1.1 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
