A vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's handling of the QDMA TX queue for Airoha Ethernet drivers. The issue arises because the TX descriptors are not properly reset in the cleanup routine, which can lead to incorrect management of the TX ring. This vulnerability affects the stable version of the Linux kernel.
The vulnerability can cause improper management of the QDMA TX ring, potentially leading to issues such as data not being transmitted correctly or the network interface card (NIC) not being notified when the TX ring is empty.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by using a network interface that relies on the Airoha QDMA TX queue management. When the TX queue is cleaned up, the DMA descriptors will not be reset properly, causing the TX ring to be mismanaged.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of the Linux kernel where this vulnerability has been addressed.
