Code-Projects Vehicle Showroom Management System SQL Injection Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Vehicle Showroom Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/util/BookVehicleFunction.php', where the 'BRANCH_ID' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the database, where attackers can leak, modify, or delete data. Additionally, it could lead to unauthorized control over the system or cause a disruption of service.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the '/util/BookVehicleFunction.php' file with a crafted 'BRANCH_ID' parameter. This parameter should include the SQL injection payload, such as a boolean-based blind injection or a time-based blind injection, which exploits the application's SQL query handling.
Remediation
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
