- 2.1
A SQL injection vulnerability exists in PHPGurukul Online Shopping Portal Project version 2.1, specifically within the '/my-profile.php' file. The issue arises in the Parameter Handler component, where the 'fullname' argument can be manipulated to inject malicious SQL code. This unsanitized input is executed in SQL queries, allowing attackers to access and manipulate the database remotely. The vulnerability has been publicly disclosed and is actively exploitable.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation or deletion, and execution of administrative operations.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/shopping/my-profile.php' with the 'fullname' parameter crafted to include SQL injection payloads. For example, using a time-based blind SQL injection payload that exploits the 'RLIKE' operator to delay the response can demonstrate the vulnerability.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection. Additionally, input validation and filtering should be implemented to ensure that user input meets expected formats, blocking malicious data. Finally, database user permissions should be minimized, restricting accounts to only the necessary privileges.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
