Code-Projects Simple Laundry System SQL Injection Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in Code-Projects Simple Laundry System version 1.0. The issue resides in the '/searchguest.php' file, specifically within the Parameter Handler component. The vulnerability is triggered by manipulating the 'searchServiceId' parameter, which allows attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This exploitation can be done remotely, without any authentication requirements.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation or deletion, and exposure of sensitive information.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/searchguest.php' with a crafted 'searchServiceId' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. Several types of SQL injection techniques can be used, including boolean-based blind, error-based, time-based blind, and UNION-based injections.

Remediation

It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
