A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Download Manager plugin for WordPress, affecting versions through 3.3.52. The issue arises in the 'wpdm_members' shortcode, where the 'sid' parameter is not properly sanitized before being stored and later output. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts that are executed when users view the affected page.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can use the 'wpdm_members' shortcode and include a 'sid' parameter with a script payload. The absence of proper sanitization will allow the script to be executed when the page is accessed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Download Manager plugin to version 3.3.53 or later.
