Gravity Forms Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in WordPress

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Gravity Forms plugin for WordPress, affecting versions through 2.10.0. The issue arises from a flawed state validation process in the Consent field's hidden inputs, which fails to properly sanitize raw input before saving it to the database. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject XSS payloads that are executed when an authenticated administrator views the Entries List page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected entry.

Remediation

Users are advised to update Gravity Forms to version 2.10.1 or a newer patched version.
