Eight Day Week Print Workflow WordPress Plugin SQL Injection Vulnerability
Vulnerability
A time-based blind SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the Eight Day Week Print Workflow plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.2.6. The vulnerability arises from inadequate escaping of user-supplied data in the 'title' parameter of the 'pp-get-articles' AJAX action, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access or higher to inject additional SQL queries. This exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information in the database.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for time-based blind SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract sensitive data from the database.
Reproduction
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Subscriber-level access or higher can send a request to the 'pp-get-articles' AJAX action. The 'title' parameter can be crafted to include SQL injection payloads that exploit the vulnerability. The lack of proper input sanitization and query preparation allows these payloads to be executed, potentially leading to the extraction of sensitive database information.
Remediation
No known patch is available for this vulnerability. Users are advised to review the vulnerability details and consider uninstalling the affected plugin.
