WPB Floating Menu and Categories for WordPress Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WPB Floating Menu & Categories for WordPress – Sticky Side Menu with Icons plugin, affecting all versions through 1.0.8. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Editor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the WPB Floating Menu & Categories for WordPress plugin to version 1.0.9 or a newer patched version.
