Bytello Share Insecure DLL Loading Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary Code Execution

Vulnerability

A vulnerability exists in the Bytello Share (Windows Edition) installer prior to version 5.13.0.4246, due to insecure loading of Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs). This flaw allows arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the user running the installer, if a specially crafted DLL is placed in the same directory as the installer executable.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized execution of code with the user's privileges.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to the latest version of Bytello Share (Windows Edition), which is available as an MSI installation package.
