Apple Quick Look Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability Allowing Denial-of-Service

A vulnerability in the Quick Look component of Apple software, including iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, allows for an out-of-bounds write, which can lead to memory corruption. This issue was addressed with improved input validation. However, parsing a maliciously crafted file could still cause an unexpected application termination.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to a denial-of-service condition, causing an application to terminate unexpectedly.

Remediation

Users can update to iOS 18.7.9, iPadOS 18.7.9, macOS Sequoia 15.7.7, macOS Sonoma 14.8.7, or macOS Tahoe 26.5 to address this vulnerability.
