WP Go Maps Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps) plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 10.0.05. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, coupled with a lack of proper capability checks in the 'admin_post_wpgmza_save_settings' hook. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to WP Go Maps version 10.0.06 or a newer patched version to address this vulnerability.
