MB Connect Line mbNET/mbNET.rokey/mbNET.mini Confusion Attack Vulnerability Leading to Code Execution

Vulnerability

A local confusion attack vulnerability has been identified in the cfgparser component of MB connect line products mbNET, mbNET.rokey, and mbNET.mini. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to execute code by using a specially crafted file on a USB stick. It affects mbNET/mbNET.rokey versions through 8.4.4 and mbNET.mini versions through 3.0.2. The exploitation of this vulnerability could result in a complete loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Remediation

Users can update to mbNET/mbNET.rokey version 8.4.5 or mbNET.mini version 3.0.3.
