WatchGuard Firebox Fireware OS Web UI Path Traversal Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary Code Execution

Vulnerability

A path traversal vulnerability has been identified in the Fireware OS Web UI on WatchGuard Firebox systems. This vulnerability may allow a privileged authenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the context of an elevated system process. It affects Fireware OS versions 12.6.1 prior to 12.11.8, as well as versions 2025.1 prior to 2026.1.2.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized arbitrary code execution with elevated privileges on the affected system.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Fireware OS 12.12 or 2026.2 to address this vulnerability.
