Google Chrome WebMIDI Use-After-Free Vulnerability Allowing Heap Corruption

Vulnerability

A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the WebMIDI component of Google Chrome, prior to version 146.0.7680.71. This vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to exploit heap corruption by using a crafted HTML page.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to heap corruption, a common precursor to memory corruption vulnerabilities that can be exploited to execute arbitrary code.

Remediation

Users can update to Google Chrome version 146.0.7680.71 or later to address this vulnerability.
