A local privilege escalation vulnerability has been identified in snapd on various Ubuntu LTS versions. This issue allows local attackers to gain root privileges by recreating snap's private temporary directory. The vulnerability arises when systemd-tmpfiles is set to automatically clean up this directory, affecting Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS, 22.04 LTS, and 24.04 LTS.
