WP SEO Structured Data Schema Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WP SEO Structured Data Schema plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.8.1. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with Contributor-level access or higher can inject scripts via the '_kcseo_ative_tab' parameter. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is accessed by any user.

Remediation

No known patch is available. It is recommended to uninstall the affected plugin and find a replacement.
