Open ISES Tickets Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in opena.php

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Open ISES Tickets versions prior to 3.44.2. The issue resides in opena.php, where authenticated attackers can inject arbitrary JavaScript by sending an unsanitized value through the frm_call GET parameter. This injected script executes in the context of the victim's browser when the crafted URL is accessed.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user can send a request to opena.php with a crafted URL that includes a JavaScript payload in the frm_call parameter. The injected script will execute when the URL is visited.

Remediation

Users are advised to upgrade to Open ISES Tickets version 3.44.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
