Open ISES Tickets
- < 3.44.2
A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Open ISES Tickets versions prior to 3.44.2. The issue resides in the add_note.php file, where authenticated attackers can inject arbitrary JavaScript. This is achieved by sending an unsanitized value through the ticket_id GET parameter, which is then directly inserted into a hidden input field's VALUE attribute. When the crafted URL is accessed, the JavaScript payload executes in the victim's browser.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject and execute malicious scripts in the context of the user's browser.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user can send a request to add_note.php with a crafted ticket_id parameter that includes a JavaScript payload. The unsanitized value will be injected into a hidden input field, and the script will execute when the page is loaded.
Users are advised to upgrade to Open ISES Tickets version 3.44.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
