Tenda F453 Buffer Overflow Vulnerability in Qossetting Function
Vulnerability
A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in the Tenda F453 router, specifically in version 1.0.0.3. The issue arises in the 'fromqossetting' function within the '/goform/qossetting' file, where user-provided input in the 'qos' parameter is not properly validated before being copied to a stack-based buffer. This lack of length checking allows for remote exploitation, potentially leading to a denial-of-service condition or arbitrary code execution.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability causes a buffer overflow, which can disrupt normal operation or be leveraged for remote code execution.
Reproduction
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to the '/goform/qossetting' endpoint. The request must include a 'qos' parameter filled with a payload that exceeds the buffer's capacity, effectively causing the overflow.
