WP Store Locator Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the WP Store Locator plugin for WordPress, affecting versions through 2.2.261. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary scripts into the 'wpsl_address' post meta. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the modified page and opens the corresponding map marker info window.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the WP Store Locator plugin to version 2.3.0 or a newer patched version.
