Vulnerability

A deserialization vulnerability allowing PHP object injection has been identified in the WordPress Kamperen theme, affecting versions prior to 1.3. This vulnerability could lead to arbitrary object instantiation, which, if exploited, might allow a malicious actor to execute code injection, SQL injection, path traversal, or cause a denial-of-service, depending on the presence of a suitable object injection chain.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the WordPress Kamperen theme to version 1.3 or later. Patchstack has also issued a mitigation rule to block attacks targeting this vulnerability.
