Concrete CMS Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Search Block

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Concrete CMS versions prior to 9.4.8. The issue resides in the search block, where page names and content are displayed without adequate HTML encoding. This flaw enables authenticated, rogue administrators to inject malicious JavaScript into page names, which is executed when users search for and view those pages in the search results.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the search results.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Concrete CMS version 9.4.8 or later to address this vulnerability.
