LearnDash LMS SQL Injection Vulnerability in ProPanel Template AJAX Action

Vulnerability

A blind time-based SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in the LearnDash LMS plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 5.0.3. The issue arises in the 'learndash_propanel_template' AJAX action, where the 'filters[orderby_order]' parameter is insufficiently sanitized. This flaw allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject additional SQL queries into existing ones, potentially leading to the extraction of sensitive information from the database.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for blind time-based SQL injection, where an attacker can manipulate SQL queries to extract sensitive information from the database.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to LearnDash LMS version 5.0.3.1 or later.
