Gutenverse WordPress Plugin Server-Side Request Forgery Vulnerability

A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability has been identified in the Gutenverse – Ultimate WordPress FSE Blocks Addons & Ecosystem plugin, affecting versions through 3.5.3. The vulnerability arises in the import_images() function, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to make web requests to arbitrary locations from the web application. This could be exploited to query and modify information from internal services.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for server-side request forgery, where an attacker can make the server send requests to internal or external resources, potentially leading to unauthorized data access or modification.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Gutenverse plugin to version 3.6.0 or later.
