Gutenverse Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Gutenverse – Ultimate WordPress FSE Blocks Addons & Ecosystem plugin, affecting versions through 3.5.3. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts via the 'separatorIconSVG' parameter. These injected scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users can update to Gutenverse version 3.6.0 or later to address this vulnerability.
