ThemeREX S.King Local File Inclusion Vulnerability

A local file inclusion vulnerability has been identified in the WordPress theme S.King, specifically in versions through 1.5.3. This issue arises from improper control of filenames in include or require statements, allowing PHP remote file inclusion.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to local file inclusion, allowing attackers to include and execute files from the server. This could potentially be used to access sensitive information, such as database credentials, and could result in a complete takeover of the database, depending on the server's configuration.

Remediation

Users are advised to update to a version of the S.King theme later than 1.5.3. Patchstack has also issued a mitigation rule to block attacks targeting this vulnerability.
