Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird Memory Safety Vulnerability Allowing Potential Arbitrary Code Execution

Vulnerability

A vulnerability has been identified in Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird versions prior to 148, as well as in Firefox ESR 115.32, 140.7 and Thunderbird ESR 140.7. This vulnerability arises from memory safety issues that could lead to memory corruption. With sufficient effort, it is presumed that these issues could be exploited to execute arbitrary code.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to arbitrary code execution.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to Firefox 148, Thunderbird 148, Firefox ESR 115.33, or Thunderbird ESR 140.8 to address this vulnerability.
