Adobe InDesign Heap-Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary Code Execution

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Adobe InDesign Desktop versions 20.5.2, 21.2 and earlier. This vulnerability could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, as a victim must open a malicious file.

Remediation

Users can update to Adobe InDesign version 21.3 or 20.5.3. For managed environments, IT administrators can use the Creative Cloud Packager to create deployment packages.
