DNN Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Module Description

Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in DNN (DotNetNuke) versions prior to 9.13.10 and in the 10.0.0 series prior to 10.2.0. The issue arises because modules could be installed with rich text in their description fields, allowing scripts to be embedded and executed by users in the Persona Bar.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user.

Remediation

Users can upgrade to DNN versions 9.13.10 or 10.2.0 to address this vulnerability.
