CM Custom Reports Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the CM Custom Reports plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.2.7. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page. This vulnerability is present in multi-site installations where the unfiltered_html capability has been disabled.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the CM Custom Reports plugin to version 1.2.8 or a newer patched version.
