A deserialization vulnerability allowing object injection has been identified in the Xtemos WoodMart WordPress theme, affecting versions through 8.3.8. This vulnerability arises from the improper handling of untrusted data, which could potentially be exploited to execute arbitrary code, inject malicious SQL, traverse file paths, cause denial-of-service conditions, and more, if a suitable object injection chain is available.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to PHP object injection, allowing for various attacks such as code execution, SQL injection, path traversal, and denial-of-service, depending on the presence of a proper object injection chain.
Users are advised to update the WoodMart WordPress theme to version 8.3.9 or later. Patchstack has also issued a mitigation rule to block attacks targeting this vulnerability.
