Adobe InDesign Access of Uninitialized Pointer Vulnerability Allowing Arbitrary Code Execution

Vulnerability

A vulnerability allowing access of uninitialized pointers has been identified in Adobe InDesign Desktop versions 21.0, 19.5.5 and earlier. This vulnerability could lead to arbitrary code execution within the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, as a victim must open a malicious file.

Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in arbitrary code execution on the affected system, executed in the context of the user.

Remediation

Users can update to Adobe InDesign version 21.1 or 20.5.1. For managed environments, IT administrators can use the Creative Cloud Packager to create deployment packages.
