Social Rocket Social Sharing Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Social Rocket – Social Sharing Plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.3.4.2. The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access and above to inject arbitrary scripts into pages. These scripts execute when a user accesses the compromised page.

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Social Rocket – Social Sharing Plugin to version 1.3.5 or a newer patched version.
