A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in itsourcecode Directory Management System version 1.0. The issue arises in the admin index.php file, where the 'username' parameter is manipulated, allowing attackers to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, without any authentication, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data modification or deletion, and exposure of sensitive information.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for SQL injection, which could lead to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/dms/admin/index.php' with the 'username' parameter. Injecting a payload that exploits the SQL injection vulnerability, such as one that uses time-based blind SQL injection techniques, will demonstrate the issue.
It is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
