A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Customer Reviews for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 5.113.0 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts are executed when users access the affected pages.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access or higher can use the 'color' shortcode attribute to inject a script. The absence of proper sanitization and escaping allows the script to be executed when the page is viewed.
Users are advised to update the plugin to version 5.114.0 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
