Mang Board WP Reflected Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Vulnerability

A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Mang Board WP plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 2.3.4. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts could be executed if the attacker successfully persuades a user to perform an action, such as clicking a link.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for reflected cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.

Reproduction

To reproduce this vulnerability, send a request to a page that uses the Mang Board WP plugin, including the 'stag' parameter with the injected script. The lack of proper sanitization will allow the script to be executed when the user clicks the link.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the Mang Board WP plugin to version 2.3.5 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched.
