Secure Copy Content Protection and Content Locking Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Secure Copy Content Protection and Content Locking plugin for WordPress. This issue affects all versions through 4.9.8 and arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when users access the compromised pages.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the plugin to version 4.9.9 or a newer patched version.
