Customer Reviews for WooCommerce Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

The issue arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. This vulnerability is particularly concerning when the 'Enable for Guests' option is activated, as the injected scripts will execute when users access the affected pages.

Reproduction

The vulnerability can be reproduced by uploading a media file through the review form, which is then processed by the 'class-cr-reviews' endpoint. The 'media[].href' parameter can be manipulated to include malicious scripts, which are executed when the review is viewed.

Remediation

Users are advised to update the plugin to version 5.98.0 or later.
