A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the AcyMailing WordPress plugin, specifically in versions through 10.10.2. This vulnerability arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts are executed when a user accesses the affected page.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the page.
To reproduce this vulnerability, an authenticated user with contributor-level access can inject scripts through the 'alignment' attribute in AcyMailing forms. The injected scripts will be executed when the page is accessed by any user.
Users are advised to update the AcyMailing WordPress plugin to version 10.11.0 or a newer patched version.
