CodeAstro Student Attendance Management System
- 1.0
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in CodeAstro Student Attendance Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/attendance-php/Admin/createClassArms.php', where the 'classId' parameter is manipulated to inject malicious SQL queries. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database, leak sensitive information, tamper with data, and potentially disrupt services.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for unauthorized database access, leakage of sensitive data, data manipulation, and could lead to a complete compromise of the system, including interruption of services.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/attendance-php/Admin/createClassArms.php' with a crafted 'classId' parameter that includes malicious SQL payloads. This injection takes advantage of time-based blind SQL injection techniques, such as using the SQL 'SLEEP' function to demonstrate the injection's effectiveness.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
