CodeAstro Leave Management System
- 1.0
A SQL injection vulnerability has been identified in CodeAstro Leave Management System version 1.0. The issue resides in the file '/admin/search_staff_for_deletion.php', where the 'name' parameter is manipulated, allowing for remote exploitation. The vulnerability arises from inadequate input validation, enabling attackers to inject malicious SQL queries that could be executed by the database.
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows attackers to inject malicious SQL, potentially leading to unauthorized database access, data manipulation, and execution of administrative operations on the database.
The vulnerability can be reproduced by sending a POST request to '/LeaveManagement-PHP/admin/search_staff_for_deletion.php' with a crafted 'name' parameter that includes SQL injection payloads. This can be done using tools like sqlmap, which automates the process of finding and exploiting SQL injection vulnerabilities.
To address this vulnerability, it is recommended to use prepared statements and parameter binding to prevent SQL injection, validate and filter user input, minimize database user permissions, and conduct regular security audits.
Our algorithm analyzes dozens of metrics to generate these 8 key vulnerability categories, which are then combined to calculate the overall risk score.
