Devolutions PowerShell Universal Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in Devolutions PowerShell Universal, specifically in versions prior to 4.5.6 and 5.6.13. The issue arises in the Show-UDToast component, which fails to properly encode content sent through the Message parameter. This oversight could allow cross-site scripting attacks if user-generated data is incorporated.
Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for cross-site scripting, where an attacker can inject malicious scripts that are executed in the context of the user's browser.
Remediation
Users can upgrade to PowerShell Universal versions 4.5.6 or 5.6.13 and later to address this vulnerability. In versions prior to 4.5.6 and 5.6.13, it is recommended to apply HTML encoding to content before sending it to the Message parameter.
