Premmerce WordPress Plugin Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability has been identified in the Premmerce plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions through 1.3.20. The issue arises from missing capability checks and inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on the 'state' parameter within the 'premmerce_wizard_actions' AJAX endpoint. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which are executed when a user accesses the affected page in the Premmerce Wizard admin area.

Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability allows for stored cross-site scripting, where injected scripts are executed in the context of the user viewing the affected page.
