A vulnerability allowing local elevation of privilege has been identified in the Android Framework and System components. This issue arises from misleading or insufficient user interface elements in the ForgetDeviceDialogFragment, which could trick users into forgetting a device. Exploitation of this vulnerability does not require any additional execution privileges or user interaction. Devices running Android 16 or 16 QPR2 are affected.
Exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to elevated privileges, allowing a user to perform actions or access resources that are normally restricted.
Users can update their devices to the June 2026 security patch level to address this vulnerability. For some devices on Android 10 and later, the Google Play system update will also include this patch. Instructions for checking and updating the Android version are available on the Google Support website.
